Blaise has 10 years of experience in public practice. During this time he has worked at Grant Thornton as an audit manager, Gobodo Incorporated as a senior manager in their technical standards division, Protect a Partner International as Head of Accounting and Technical Excellence and most recently as a technical director at W.Consulting. His areas of expertise include, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), IFRS for SMEs, Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) and ISA (International Auditing Standards).
Sarah-Jane Mackenzie majored in marketing with the Institute of Marketing Management. She started her career at Procter & Gamble (P&G) as part of the Graduate Induction Program in the UK. Her roles at P&G were extensive and educational both from understanding how the business operated and how to manage and develop people to achieve sustainable growth in various divisions and countries. Sarah brings over 18 years of corporate experience with respected Multinational companies to W.consulting with first-hand experience in creating business opportunities, starting divisions, product development, managing teams, effective selling, strategy setting, vision creation, marketing, relationship management, negotiations, business analytics and communications. She consults and delivers extensive training programs for corporates on the above mentioned areas in Western Europe, South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Mauritius, Seychelles, Zambia, and the United Kingdom.
Bruce Mackenzie was appointed to the International Accounting Standards Board in October 2020, filling the Africa seat. He has more than two decades of technical accounting experience as a preparer of IFRS financial statements assisting companies globally with their reporting.
He joined the IASB for an initial term of five years from W.Consulting—an international firm providing advisory and technological solutions to companies applying IFRS Accounting Standards—where he held the position of managing director for over a decade.
He was appointed as Chair of the IFRS Interpretations Committee from 1 March 2022. Mr Mackenzie also served as a member on the IFRS Interpretations Committee from July 2014 to June 2020.
He has been a member of the Financial Reporting Standards Committee of South Africa and has served as Chair of the Standard Setters Committee of PAFA (Pan African Federation of Accountants).
Mr Mackenzie qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor in South Africa. He worked in the Deloitte IFRS Centre of Excellence in London before moving to Barclays Capital.
